Minyak Makassar / Macassar Oil
The only way to keep up with the latest about makassar is to constantly stay on the lookout for new information. If you read everything you find about makassar, it won't take long for you to become an influential authority.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Makassar oil)
Jump to: navigation, search
Macassar oil is a compounded oil used primarily by men in Victorian and Edwardian times as a hair dressing.
If you don’t have something which is unique, it is very much difficult to remain in the fray for long but there is one more thing that could be done- presentation and that is what we have tried to do with this article about makassar.
Macassar oil is basically coconut oil or palm oil to which has been added the very fragrant "ylang-ylang" oil (obtained by processing the flowers of the Ylang-ylang tree, aka Cananga odorata) as well as some other fragrant oils. (For details on the tree, as well as the oil extraction process and the oil's use in Macassar oil, see: [1] and [2])
Macassar oil was so named because it was reputed to have been manufactured from ingredients purchased in the port of Makassar in Indonesia.
Due to the tendency for the oil to transfer from a gentleman's hair to the back of the chair he was sitting on, the antimacassar was developed. This is essentially a small crocheted cloth placed over the back of a chair.

Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
it's a nice story i found inHilde's blog (Spinnennetz: Who?)
This is a story about four people:
Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
and Everybody was asked to do it.
Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it;
But Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that...
because it was Everybody’s job.
Everybody thought Anybody could do it;
but, Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody,
when Nobody did what Anybody could have done!

at the extreme northern tip of Celebes Island, Manado
Located at the extreme northern tip of Celebes Island, the area is a mixture of dense tropical forests and vast coconut plantations overlooked by numerous volcanoes, some still active and more than 2000 m high.
Spices, and more particularly cloves –sometimes known as “golden nails”- nutmegs and copra, are the main resources of the area, although fishing also plays an important part.
This is the country of flowers. Smiling and hospitality are here a long time tradition.
The majority of the population is Christian.
A few landmarks :
Manado is the provincial capital and is located 1500 km north of Bali, 1000 km south of the Philippines and 700 km north-west of Ambon.
